As above I fixed an almost new one many years ago but it isn’t worth the time fixing one nowadays, although they are far superior than Yamaha’s four stroke equivalent.

Sorry I didn’t see the 4s of the original poster. The Yamaha F4A gearbox is only a replacement for the Yamaha manufactured two stroke Mariner, which normally fail from corrosion issues

Yamaha F4A uses same gearbox housing and are usually better condition as newer. Drive shaft and gearshift shaft are different but not exactly hard to change.

Internally the clutch is different...

Yamaha 60/70/75/80/90hp gearcasing

Yamaha bare gearbox gearcasing to fit 60hp 70hp, 75C, 80 & 90hp for 1987 onwards.
Will not fit 75A or 85hp as these have different gearshift.

Removed from 2004 60hp so is the revised thicker...

They are hardly used anymore. You can use a gps NMEA output to the Yamaha gauges to read far more accurately than the pitot pipe on the gearbox.

The twin carb, autolube 20D/25N are not the nicest engine. The 20hp “Origin” model (single carb, premix) is a much longer lived engine and far preferable. Both were sold alongside each other in 1990s.

I love them, my first RIB, I would have another if I could find one in excellent condition.
