Good grief! You nearly had that bang on - but IMO a garden "office" with a moat requires a drawbridge.

Agree, absolute necessity

I'm now scratching around for boat jobs...may even resort to cleaning / polishing the stainless steel
Have got to adjust the bow roller on the trailer - been meaning to do this for 2 years!

I am glad I didn't manage to get the boat onto the dock before all this started, at least I can tinker with her on the drive & run the engine every now & again

I got out the ToobShine and Hypatec this morning and gave the boat a good wash and protect. Looking much more spiffy now along with the cleaned non-skid decks :-).

I then gave in and replaced 48 split pins on the trailer (that are probably the original ones from 2004) with nice shiny new stainless items. 48 only covered the pair of rear rocker arms, another 2 pairs to go... Need to wait for a new batch of split pins to arrive though, as I exhausted my stock!

New tinned cable arrived as well for some modifications to the bilge pump wiring, which when I've finished will enable the dash pump switch that has never been connected since I bought the boat, and include a new WaterWitch sensor. Just waiting on the new bilge alarm to arrive too. Have also been investigating trim gauge, which has also never worked, and have the wiring plotted out and the sender units tested, so will hopefully connect all that up in the coming days/weeks.

If/when I do finish all the RIB jobs then it's back to the Series 1 107" Land Rover...

Willk - yes, I remember your thread, and indeed it was that thread which spurred me into ordering new split pins ready to do the same on mine! Only they then sat on the shelf for a while in my case... (other than one or two that had actually broken)

Thankfully so far all fairly easy, but still pretty time consuming. If they were once stainless, they certainly aren't now, and are bending quite easily to pull out, or breaking off completely with some twisting. The existing pins also seem to be sized with 1-2mm space in the hole, so possibly that has helped them not completely seize.

Did all mine last summer when not boating - replaced galvanised withS/S they are awkward little bu**ers to get out, but none needed to be drilled

Ah ha, maybe mine were originally galvanised then - I certainly don't ever recall them being shiny stainless in my ownership, and are definitely pretty rusty now! But if they lasted 16 years, I can't really complain.

It's certainly quite a slow/tedious process with pliers to remove and then replace, even without Willk's seizing issues - I was quite happy when I ran out of supplies and was forced to stop for the day :-) .

Well I was on my back under the boat on Sun, jacking her up to adjust the trailer bow roller and saw how dirty the underside of the hull was - especially towards the stern where it flattens. Weekend task - workout how to clean it without getting totally soaked.... lying under the hull with the pressure washer is not my idea of fun....however drysuit has not been used much this year:

My local Irish Pup is closed, Saint Pats day was canceled after the owner had ordered 30 grand of whisky and food. I have been forced to drink every night with the wife watching old boxing matches and Dexter.
