Ceasar Thunderbolt, 5.1, 2up Running a ETEC 90 with race worked prop, going of a handheld GPS and running along side another RIB gave the reading of 57.2mph but it is a cat, so having a wind tunnel does help.

I recon I have had it slightly quicker aswell on a patch of inland water with one up, but with out a GPS I cant state by how much

With no fuel and 1 up, witha 21 stainless on the 115, you can get 45knots out of her with a small following sea state, with the engine jacked up on sea trails and prop testing I have had 46 knots according to the Yamaha gauges.

Good little boat...

Hi, Thanks for the comments, I have not had the boat long but am very pleased :-) Interested that you got 40+ knots with no fuel, I knew the F115 was good on fuel economy but that is impressive!! :-)

Indeedy, lyme bay with 1 bar flashing is not always the best place to be! Dartmouth is stunning though, one of my fav places, just a shame it is quite a long way from Hayling Island!

Both two way and both on GPS
I get 47kts WOT at 5500rpm on a Ribtec 645 with a Mercury 200 running a 21" Laser II prop. 100-150 litres fuel, 2 up, trimmed out, flat calm. What prop size are you using as this seems very fast to me. Does anyone use a 23" prop on a 6.5 with 200HP?

6.5 Speed Survey

Well, for all sorts of reasons, work, having fun on the water, forgetfulness, this thread got forgotten by me. Sorry.

Now with loads of data I have honed in on 6.5 nominal boats with outboards of nominal 150.

There are two outliers which are a 6.5 Tornado (not a light boat) with a 150 optimax quoting 46, and a 6.5 Ribcraft (not a light boat again) with a Honda quoting 45. I suspect those are actually mph or 40 or 39 knots....

Everyone else clusters at 42-43.5 knots.

Of specific interest are a 650 Rib-X which gains 2 knots over the pack to 45 with 23 pitch, and Ribcraft with a Suzi 175, again with 23 pitch but with a 175 which again gains 2 knots to 45.

I would be very interested to hear from people with a 6.5 with any revisions to their earlier submissions, anyone with a 175 in particular, and anyone running a 23 pitch prop.

Our 6.3m Humber Ocean Pro used to get 39 knots with a 140 Suzuki about 10 years ago, now we are getting around 33-35 knots with two up. I’m thinking the hull needs a polish, maybe some horses have escaped out of the engine which is now 14 years old, 21” aluminium prop.
