BWM Deepsea 17 with 90 merc Four stroke. One up and 60 litres with a heavy load. 19" prop Max was 41 knotts but hole shot was crap. With a 17" prop Max of 38.5 knotts but would have to say that with reliability that 36/37 knotts was easily achivable.

Bruce wouldn't cruising speed at 4000 RPM be more constructive?

Narwhal HD 580 and Tohatsu 90 TLDI, 13x19 Yam prop,

39kts averaged (38.5 and 39.5 back), driver only, 40 liters fuel, pretty calm sea.

Usually 37kts@5600 RPM with 2 or 3 on board and chop.

Ringrib, purchased one of the first ledgand ribs end of 97, on invoice and, on display sticker it said 6m however when measured it turned out to be 5.85, where is my .15 I would like to know? anyway already owned a freshly rebuilt xr2 that had achieved over 80mph on a 27ft boat, so I thought what the hell, I will use that and as this boat is only around 6m I will be happy if it only does a 100mph. A mate after driving mine purchased an identical rib and fitted a yam 130hp with 2 up and half fuel he has reached 59.3mph on GPS but it hits the limiter, but he has got many stainlss props to play with, he recons this year he will get over 60+, one thing at part throtle it still goes well with amazing economy for speed, where as the xr2 drinks like a fish!!!

Not a Rib, but same similar size and a popular hull.

Ring 15ft Speed Boat
70HP Tohatsu 5500rpm
38-40 knots more to come though
