And £220 for the one that needed re-gluing. Two good deals have been had there.

Agreed, That re-glue one was spot on the correct price... or even a whisker cheap.

What engine was on the 2011 Aerotec?

No engine but OE launch wheels and a Bravo 12v pump included.

Someone must be on drugs paying that for a 12 year old discontinued sib 🤷

Well compared to your ten bob max for any Aerotec I guess so.

But with huge experience of the model if I wanted a new one now and they were still made I'd happily pay £2000 to £2500 so for a minter used £1500 is kinda OK.

2k for a split new would be ok, 1.5k for a 12 year old model with potential glue issues only a few years away doesn’t seem good value.
But each to their own 🤷

That's a really interesting outfit Tommy. Obviously the usual age thoughts are in mind both re SIB and outboard but it's a proper classic.

Price seems reasonable. Needs some tlc. How do these handle with the speed tubes?

Like it's on rails until you get some chop and then it's wet and loves air time. Planes easily as well for a heavish SIB.

A basic old Avon but I’ve seen blow up kids toy boats at ‘seaside’ shops costing more!

The oars and pump are worth that, those Avon pumps are better than anything supplied these days.

Hi Guys, Im new here, but I pulled the trigger on this one and she is now mine. Well, at £400 it was worth a gamble, and a winter project.

Going to pick it up this week and assess exactly what state she is in / transom etc. Tubes, I am informed hold air well.

So, Will see what state she is in, and if I can get away with spending no more than what I paid for it to bring it back to life.

Welcome to the club.

Looks in good condition for the age, doesn't mention transom wheels but it has the brackets on the transom so might be worth asking.

Looks like the floors detached itself from the tubes which is going to take some cleaning and some glue, loads of guides on here on how to glue PVC sibs, clean , clean and clean again and use the correct chemicals to do it. Check the transom to tubes as well, inside on the floor and the inner corners.

I would take some soapy water in a spray bottle, remove the floor inflate to full pressure and spray away, if the floors leaking then it's a hard fix, imo.

It's also looks to have a wooden extension to the floor at the back, I'm not sure if this is standard from the factory. Might be worth trying to find an old zodiac manual to see if it was, my old 3.8fr didn't have this on.

What engine are you planning to use?

Yeah, going to have to give it a damn good clean to see what state she is actually in.

Regarding the floor .. depending on the condition of it, i may remove it all together and replace it with a marine ply floor, same as the transom... if it needs any work, then ill probably look to replace that too.
If i do look to replace the transom, then i may build extra strength into it, and may look at adding additional bracing for a larger engine.

I would like to run a 40hp if possible on her as im not exactly the lightest passenger ... plus with a family of 4, maybe the extra hp would be a benefit ... failing that, ill look for a 25.

Ok, it will be a bit of a frankinstein boat, but it should be good for a few years of family use for less than £1000.
