Yamaha 25hp 2 stroke

Looking at getting this outboard for the SIB.

Is this a fair price? Has anyone used this shop before or know them?
Any other opinions welcome.

Thanks

That's probably a bit more than I would pay, however, it appears to be in very good condition, it's a dealer selling it, and it comes with a full service history. Maybe you can knock them down a bit?

I sold a couple of very similar engines (similar age, hp, spec etc, although Mercury not Yam) on ebay recently and got about £1000 each for them. Likewise I bought a 2005 Yam 25 4-stroke recently for £1000. Those give you something for comparison.

The Yamaha 25hp 2-stroke is a fantastic engine especially on a sib. I used to have one on a Zodiac Mk2 CGT and it was great 2-3 up. Plenty grunt, easy to maintain, etc.

Price-wise, it's always hard to call. They hold their value extremely well. As a comparison - Bill (notoriously expensive) Higham is selling the same model (2008) for £2k.
Buy Used Outboards yamaha 25hp short shaft, manual start, tiller control 25.0HP Outboard at Bill Higham Marine

Wills may knock something off for cash - you don't know until you ask!

Yep fantastic sib engine and for a late model, with history and from a dealer it looks about right. You can easily pay £750 for a 20 year old one on Ebay.

Mine pushes a Futura Mk2C at over 30kts :-)
