It's just the easiest way of letting people know who has paid, but if it offends you... Then don't read it

You should take note from John Kennett's ribnet "posting selectively" guidelines here: http://www.rib.net/forum/f31/general...ines-4760.html
I do understand that the people whom are attending the roast need to be informed about monies etc so maybe a pm to them with a weekly round-up post for everybody would work better.

I do think the first part of your post is a little patronising to say the least!!
Funny how this thread has been running now for some weeks for the purpose of organising a gathering of like-minded ribbers to enjoy themsleves over a week end. Funny how out of over 11000 members world-wide you are the only person complaining!
Maybe its the wrong forum for you as you seem to be in the minority!

With that in mind, any thoughts how long it might take to go "around" assuming the weather is OK, including any planned stops etc?

Back to the trip. (Hogs booked and paid for now.)
It's about 80 mile. With stops of an hour in total for a couple of planned, Holyhead perhaps to top up tanks from your jerry cans. We'll average 15-20 mph with faster and slower bits i guess. Setting off at 11, we'll get round and be back by 5-5.30.
If flat calm, averaging 25mph, we'd be back by 3.30-4.
If we got round to Holyhead and hit trouble, then battled on or came back round it could be 6-7pm by home.

Thanks for that. Very useful, might have to give you a "go, no go" during the week before based on weather forecasts.
I'd join the Armada at Porth Dinorwic, in any event.
Cheers.

Not seen any posts yet but seeing I'll be carrying a female passenger I'll be due the question soon about "is there any toilet stops"
Regarding this, is Holyhead the only stop and are there toilets there?

I'd suspect we will stop at beaumaris briefly to a) pick up Yoyo Bradosh et al and b) grab some chips and all say hi. (there's toilets there)
After that we'll need to get motoring and yes, next stop Holyhead I guess for a breather, coffee, toilet break and general boat maintenance. Then we will head on.
(If its flat calm and tide right (which it should) I'd envisage another stop at red wharf, or amlch.)
Other than that I'm afraid it's your own boat facilities.
