I have enjoyed the fun and support of the forum and it will be our first big trip. The support of other experienced like minded rib users is much appreciated. We joined the start of last Easter's run but dropped out as you all left the straits since we were not properly equipped nor was the boat ready to go.

Since then we have built on some experience, run the straits from Chris's and had the support of Cookie which has been much appreciated. We also know Coed Helen a bit which should be good for an evening social.

For me having the end of April to look forward to, meet up with you all, see some great ribs, share experiences and have the support for what will be our first big trip - is what it is all about.

Nick

More importantly I do believe there are people here who wouldn't go it alone. It can be confidence, lack of navigational skills, worries of boat size/sea and passengers if it blew up or niggling doubt about boat reliability. All the aforementioned used to apply to me and I wish I'd been on the forum then.

If going together combined with few caring sorts willing to sweep along with smaller boats removes any of the above, I'll be a happy bunny.

Last year we enabled all boats to reach morfa nefyn by going as a group. Had two certain boats been alone, they would have had an unpleasant journey back. their crew/passengers were tired and uncomfortable as it got rougher. However they were reallocated to bigger boats and the skippers had a ball flying off the waves. Safety, fun and pleasure. Result.

I had two boats email me thanking us for doing what we did, they didn't need help but were glad there were boats following behind who could help if fuel filters blocked, engines stalled etc. They enjoyed the day as they felt safer.
Very well said. Anybody no matter what boat, or experience can get into difficulties - safety in numbers.
