Lets hope its a good weekend.

Regards Gary

Waypoint

Gary, our ETA is 1200 BST so we could hang around outside and meet up with Whitingiom and you and Dave before entering the harbour.
When you have done your plan post a waypoint a couple of miles offshore Douglas and we can meet up there.

Well, not long to go now! Snorkelling gear is all packed, all I have to do is dig my tent out of my room (could prove to be an all day job for tomorrow that!). Looking forward to it.

Confusing names

Could be a bit confusing.....

Our rib is called Tigger!

A Port St Mary rib is called Tigger II

We are black tubes with orange flashes, and there'll be a Manx flag fluttering from the A frame!

Could you all put your estimated fuel orders on this thread tomorrow.... I have been struggling a bit with jerrycans for petrol, but I now have 4 x 20 litres, so I may need a couple of trips to the petrol station but we'll manage.

I know Ian posted a few a week or so back, but I've no doubt it'll be slightly different!

Garygee is ok for diesel - I have plenty of that!

Out sailing tonight - no wind so slapped the outboard on and whizzed back in for a curry and some beer.

Forecast looks ok - if it's southerly on Sunday you boys will get quite a bit of shelter from N Wales coast on the way back?

See you soon.

Jon

Fuel requirements

Ian Greenwood Llynhome 80 unleaded
Ged Mortimer 100 unleaded
Garry Greenwood Tigger 2 60 diesel
Dave Mallett Black Magic 80 unleaded

This is what we expect to require as far as fuel is concerned.
Thanks

Hi folks

Ian, Jon

We will be bringing some fuel over with us, in addition to the 60L planned in the IOM.

When we have empied these into our main tanks your welcome to borrow them to ferry petrol.

They are two 20L steel jerry cans.

Also will post waypoint tonight, but hope we should be able to get people on VHF as we get closer.

As far as being confusing I will post out MMSI number then anyone with DSC can get hold of us without confussion about names.

Lerts hope this weather pics up it SH** here at present, cold heavy rain but at lease not much wind.

Regards Gary

I'll have a 20 and a 25 litre jerry so can use these when emptied as well. Looks like we certainly have enough to carry our requirements around.
I also stocked up with 2 stroke oil so should have some extra if anyone needs a bit.
If you need other than 2 stroke either make sure you have some or let Whitingiom know, just in case.

Conflicting weather forecasts.
One shows 5mph wind and calm sea with cloud Sat and cloud/sun on Sunday.
Another, for the same period, has 15 mph winds and potential f7!
At the moment in South Manchester it is rain but no wind. I suggest the decision is made on destination etc after viewing internet sites tonight and seeing the TV weather to gather as much info. as possible.
Can we all be online at 9pm ish to discuss?
Thanks

CH, Happy Birthday.

conwy weather

So far rain all day with blustery winds on and off, coastguard warning of high winds for SUNDAY backed up by the print off by the met office.Local charter fishermen tell us the trip to the Isle of Man is always a lot softer on the way there than on the way back.
.
Im all fueled up and ready to go weather the ISLE OF MAN or just cruisin...

Cannot be on line at 9pm, Ian but as you've done the organising, it's your call and we're happy with what you decide. Give myself, KH and Horse a ring tonight on 07967836575. If it looks too iffy for IOM, we'll bring the new boat up for a local cruise instead. Whatever, it'll be a blast.

Judging by the weather, don't think I'll bother with the snorkelling stuff. Managed to dig the tent out, just a case of packing everything up now!

Got sorted with a new boat then David?

Weather

Weather looks good until rain moving in Sunday afternoon.
I suggest we go Saturday as planned but leave Douglas around Midday and route back direct.
For those of us heading for Conwy, the long way round Anglesey is an option with a run through the Menai Straights.
Your thoughts lads!
The wind still looks good for power but not so good for yachties.

Therefore as far as I am concerned it's a GO.
