Dave (Wavelength) What your thought do we go to Conway or meet the other RIBS part way over.

I am easy dont mind tides are 10.15 ish so would not be able to lock out till 8.45 unless you know somewhere I could moor afloat and I come out Friday night. I guess its about we should leave about 3 hours to get to Conway depending on conditions.

Dave you say yourgetting their at 8.00 is that afloat or on your trailer. What time do you plan to depart Conway?.

Also whats your range like its about 60 miles to Conway and about the same to Douglas, 120 ish in total. Would you need to refuel at Conway.

Let us know

Either way we are still on, still dont know how many but we will be their weather permiting.

Regards Gary

Sorry for the delay, just got back from a week in Abersoch. No PC in the caravan or on the RIB!
I'll post a list tomorrow of who, and number of RIB's. It will be Conway for launch and recovery. Times will also be posted tomorrow.
Parking sorted with Ged last Saturday when I visited him en route to Abersoch. Conway gives great alternatives if weather lets us down.
Had a GREAT WEEK in Cardigan Bay, sorry to leave (as usual).

Cheers
Ian

Ian Greenwood +RIB + Helen (daughter age 16)
Ged RIB +?
Windchill +RIB +2
Dave Manning +RIB + Keith Hart
Gary Greenwood +RIB +0-3 (known nearer date)
Dave Mallet +RIB +1
Clarky +RIB +(will advise nearer date)

This is correct info. that I have as of now. Any difference, please advise. Departure Conway June 28 09:00. Bring your boat insurance with you!
Trailer and car parking arranged close to slipway with Ged's garden acting as multi-storey!
If the weather lets us down Ged has enough ideas to keep us busy in the Conwy area. Not sure on B&B yet if this is the case.
More details will be sent shortly to those listed above.

Cheers
Ian

Campsites available within easy reach of harbour, hotel info. already posted. Has everyone got some form of sleeping arrangements made?
Parking of cars and trailers has been kindly offered by Ged, his garden is more than big enough to cope with all. He has also offered parking for the week before for RIBs if this is useful to anyone. Many thanks Ged I'll bring mine from Abersoch on the Sunday before en route home.

Aha, this is where it went!! Glad to see we're all still going.

What are the logistics of launching in Conwy, then getting trailers to Ged's? I was considering launching in Holyhead and joining you somewhere north of the Island?

If it's better for you to launch at Holyhead we will meet you en route. We can arrange a waypoint nearer the time. Departure from Conwy planned for 0900 BST on Saturday June 28.
If weather bad, we will probably be out and about at the South end of the island.

Probably more sociable to set off with everyone else!!

Rooms now booked at Douglas Hilton for myself, my 11 year old daughter, and one friend.

Lets hope the weather improves significantly!

Arrrgh, boat has been sold prematurely but hopefully a new tub will have arrived by end of June. If not, is there two seats for myself and Mr. Hart going in any of the other ribs.

Dave, got room on my tubes but no seats. I'm sure we can squeeze you and Keith 'me mate sold his RIB from under me' Hart onboard something.
We are down to 6 RIB's now, please don't sell anymore until July!

Hi David

No problem, we can always take 'Quicksilver' across. It'll be good practice for the 'Orkney Expedition'. Anyway it would be 'The first ever crossing from Conway to the Isle of Man in a 3.4m SIB'. We could do it for charity.......

If you want to give it a go nows the time Keith.

Lots of support on hand, worst case you could haul you SIB aboard one of the other RIBS. Or maybe have a tow, bet your SIB's never done 40Kts yet has it

I wont know till almost last minute but I may have room spare if people are short of space. I am either likley to be full, poss 8 people or just me.

Regards Gary

Claire Liu from the Douglas Hilton advisies that none of the names so far declared have booked. Neiother does she recognise any of the rates we have been given, or North West RIBnet, or indeed anything to do with rubber boats!!!!

Urgent reponses sought!! Sadly lost temper with her a bit!!

Hilton

Dave have you booked at this hotel, Crazyhorse you did but presume you cancelled. Can you advise Windchill who you arranged the rates with?

Mines a 2 man tent so will struggle to get more in, not taking the bunks!

Thanks
Ian

Do we have an actual person's name to book with? The rates have been queried twice now!!
I phoned to book over the weekend, one double at £84 with breakfast, one single at £54 on same basis, but was told that the latter ought o have been £57. I offered a credit card reservation fee, but was advised to fax my reservation over, which I duly did. Today, when Claire faxed back with her query, they had no record of the rates, and insisted the it was £84 per room fullstop!!

How many of us are actually intending to stay in the Hilton by the way?
