For avoidance of doubt. The organised event of ERR ends 4 pm on Sunday 5th. Any trips organised by individuals and groups after that , are solely the responsibility of individuals and ERR organisers have no input into those.

Overnight and Corryvreckan

Overnight - the local options alongside are
Dunstaffnage, Oban, Kerrera, Craobh, Ardfern.
Easdale Island is calm, you can tie to the pontoons but it is a dinghy ride to the land. Toilet facilities only at mainland.
Corryvreckan, Monday.
The Corryvreckan and its tides are not for the inexperienced with growing tides and small boats. Yes, Seafari heads down there on big tides but our boats are 10m, 2x300hp and skippers go there daily.
Times onsite.
West going tide, big standing waves - 1230 - 1330.
East going tide, whirlpools, upwellings 1830 - 1930.

It should be noted
Every skipper is responsible for the safety of their boat and passengers.
Neither Seafari nor ERR are responsible for the information above.

Looking forwards to a calm if not sunny ERR 24.

Tony

Sorry... Just seen this... We're driving up starting this afternoon going to launch at Ardoran on Friday, then decide when we get there if we'll stay in Easdale "harbour" overnight or go to a proper marina.
Looking forward to it as well!

I would like to Thank Douglas Tony and the Sea Safari staff for organising this event and introducing my wife and I to the magical place called Easdale....we fell in love with the place.
Sorry you had to rescue me after my engine failed...I can assure you my breakdown wasn't due to lack of preparation.....We will be back.....hopefully with a newer outboard.....so thankyou once again for your selfless efforts.
Also worth a mention was the fantastic bunch of people on the Rally....we met some cracking folk.
And one last thankyou to the Gentleman that turned back when we broke down....it was a peace of mind to know we were not out there alone.
hope to see you all again next year.
All the best Paul and Carla.

Delighted you enjoyed the Rendezvous . Very much a team effort with the wider team on ERR .
Shame about the engine . It is in keeping with the spirit of ERR we help each other out. Help should never be far away when in company. We encountered fog at Port Ellen late afternoon . I could hear Miles on the vhf escorting ribs in the murk out of Port Ellen .

From drone footage , we estimate circa 76 ribs left Easdale Saturday morning, a record number in fine conditions .

Despite the fog on Sunday several boats made it to Waypoint Kerrera for a nice lunch.

Thanks for coming, footage is being collated for a video and and event report will be issued to all those registered shortly.

Cheers. D and team ERR

We have just returned from the event and we were both had a lovely time. For us it is a 1100 mile round trip towing the boat so we stop part way. It is of course a long and expensive outing costing near to £400 in diesel but it is well worth it and this year we were very blessed with the weather. We met some lovely people and the area around Easdale is a boating paradise. We took 4 boats with us and managed to use all of them they were:

The main small Rib Narwhal 4.5 with a 60hp two stroke
A Honwave T38IE 2 with a 15hp 2 stroke
A Aqua Marina Aircat 335 with a 10 hp 2 stroke and
A Intiwit X100 Canoe - Padle Power

Below is a condensed video of our trip... Many thanks to all involved and of course to Scotland for providing the lovely scenery and weather.

I see Donny has just uploaded a cracking "official" video of this event on his YouTube. I hope you don't mind me linking it here Donny. Mary and I really enjoyed it as many others will. After her charter trip with Sandy in the Redbay to Corryvreckan, which she still relives when prompted, Mary still muses on us getting a serious boat... I am more realistic however. But great to see all the other boats and ponder.

PS: Excellent Pirates music.

Do you mean Corryvreckan?

Not myself but a few years back when staying at Tayvallich Mrs F and our daughter booked the Corryvreckan trip with the Redbay running out of Crinan while I stayed doing sibbing things. Since then Mrs F has been Redbay obsessed.

Ahh thanks Steve, too much rushing to get the grass cut so Mrs F can relax in the garden! And not like me to try and edge a thread to my own boat type.

So post updated...

Donny went on the longer trip so had no video from the shorter 75 mile trip. This shorter trip was the one we went on and made this video.

It does not need to be that expensive. Link below of a very affordable boat. If you can source a 60 hp outboard for say £2,500 and with a new trailer from Extreme you could have this ready to go for £12,000.
