I've been asked to provide a list of suggested 'kit' for people to carry. My simple answer to this would be "the same as any other trip" and point people towards this thread:

However, I realise that is perhaps not very helpful for someone who is trying to decide if they need to go and buy something for the trip, so let me suggest (and others can give differing opinions):
If you are camping then tent, sleeping mat, sleeping bag, stove of some sort, food, and anything else you normally need. The one thing you might not think of is FRESH WATER. Based on last year's experience it would also be useful if each boat could bring a log or two for the collective fire, if you've got space.
As for the boat itself, I've listed these thinks with my suggestion of how essential or important they are.
each person will probably have:
Buoyancy aid or Lifejacket with whistle
Waterproofs, wetsuit, flotation suit or dry suit according to personal preference
Hat (with a peak in case of sun!)
Sunglasses?
[if you have them phone in water proof bag, waterproof torch, "rescue" type knife, h/held vhf]
essential?
* Anchor, chain and rope.
* Something to bail with
* Torch
* Compass
* [personally I'd say a chart, others think for sibbing an OS map is OK, and I dare say if you have a GPS plotter and a phone as a backup then paper may not be essential at all - especially with so many others around]
* Socket for your sparkplugs (and any other special tools)
* A small tool kit or multitool.
* Knife.
* Spare kill cord IF you have more than one person on board.
* Fuel, with enough to spare. Oil if you are 2 stroke.
* A rope, suitable for towing your boat (consider a "bridle" to spread the load).
* Paddle or oars.
* Emergency food.
* Dry bag with spare clothes.
* Small first aid kit - personally the trivial things like plasters and paracetemol are likely to be more useful than triangular bandages and splints - if there are major injuries the professionals will be coming and you can usually improvise.
* Pump and patch kit for those of you with blow up boats ;-)
* Spare batteries for anything electrical.
* A couple of short ropes.
not essential - but if you don't have this, work out an alternative plan
* GPS
* H/Held VHF [last year I don't think we used VHF between ourselves at all; obviously if someone drops out of sight or the group splits to go different ways things might be different].
* A few spares like cable ties, duck tape, spark plugs, wire, fuse?
* Spare starter cord.
* Phone in dry bag.
if you have them but I probably wouldn't buy them specially, given there are multiple boats around:
* sponge to keep the boat dry!
* Flares [putting this so low down will no doubt be controversial, but if you have plenty of means of signalling distress, and are cruising near others the value might be limited]
* PLB
* Pocket EAR mask
* Spare Fuel primer bulb
* Binoculars
* survival bag
* Glow stick
* Multimeter (if you have anything that it might be useful for)
* Camera (waterproof or in dry bag)
* aux engine if you wish
* fire extinguisher?
