Gin and biscuits - Eddystone lighthouse - Saturday 2nd July

Folks

We were robbed of out trip to the lighthouse for a cream tea early in May so I've been looking at other tide windows.

The best looking tide (when I'm free) is of the afternoon of the 2nd July.

The intention will be to leave the breakwater fort at 1430 for the 14 nm run out to the lighthouse.

As it's a little late in the day for a cream tea I thought gin and biscuits would be in order instead - with perhaps a little cake in case the biscuits aren't liked?

A 1430 jump off would get us out to the lighthouse 1515 ish so plenty of time for a dive, fish, gin and natter before the journey back to Plymouth and recovery on a high tide (1655).

Good idea, Andy

The gin would be nothing less than Plymouth's I expect

I thought a Campari and soda or a hock spritzer was more your tipple

Folks

It's looking a little windy, but no rain which is the good news.

I'm still going to run with this but if it's too lumpy we'll go up river to Calstock or Halton and enjoy the gin there instead

There is room if you're free I suspect.

More than happy to see you all. We won't make the call on Calstock or Eddystone till we see what the sea state is.

The good news is the tides were planned to allow either there is no rain forecast so we will run one way or the other - but will it be North or South..............
