Surfing at Godrevey on Sat and Sun, too good to miss, me old man said he saw you and Bob belt across the Bay

The good news is I worked on me "Spare" boat all last week, rebuilding the oil pump system, I just need to reterminate the VHF cable as the BNC fell off and service the engine and I'm ready to rock n roll.

Not as clean Sun eve as forecast Shaggy, hardwork for an old boy with an iffy back. Nice sunset, bottle of wine and a sozage went down well though.

Went to Sennen on Sun eve for a LEGO (Late Evening Glass Off to be said in a Ozy accent) and a meal in the new beach cafe restaurant, nice food great view, bad service, should have gone to the Old Success for a pint of Doomand a Pastie.

Give me shout if your surfing this way again.

All SW Rib.nutters

I guess Id better start thinking about the next SW Ribbsters meet now everyone has their boats in the water (well Roy you never took yours out ).

How about a day trip from Hayle out in St.Ives bay wakeboarding and seal watching.

Then a meal in the Bucket of Blood in Hayle in the evening, or a BBQ on the beach?

We can only launch and recover 3 hours either side of HW so either a early morning start out over Low water back on the next HW or a 5 hour trip over HW?

If anyone wants to stay over night for a Sun run I should be able arrange storage of boats and trailers at my mates play Paradise Park, there is a travel lodge near by as well as lots of B&Bs.

Whats your thoughts?

Hayle slip fees + first Time ribneter

Having eventually got my first rib i am after all the info I can get.
My daughters are in the H.S.L.S.C and it was thro them that I heard that the slip fees have gone up this year.does any one know what they are and if locals get concessions!
Your ref ' tides Answered my thoughts on launching times re High water at hayle. Are there any probs re sand bank heading out of the harbour?
Yes I would be interested in the rib cruise if novices are invited.Might even get wife and the kids along (If its sunny)and (FLAT)!

That sounds excellent Shaggy, really want to have a go at wakeboarding, I'm ebaying furiously at the moment trying to kit myself and boys out. I dare not miss another cruise the slagging from Bob and Roy will be unbearable!
If we can get 4 or 5 boats we could lash em together and see if we could pull fat ol Mollers up as well

Hi Sticky
Welcome to the Forum and great to see a fellow SW Hayle Ribster

Indeed they are now charging for the slip use its 10 per launch however you can get a season pass from the Harbour Masters office cost is based on length of vessel approx 60 for a 5Mtr RIB.

Hayle Bar can be very tricky indeed if there is a big ground or wind swell running, you can always get in a bit earlyer to ensure more water in the channel (which shifts on every tide ) its good experience running in and out of there when there is a swell running but scares the living daylights out of me I'd rather be on a surfboard if its 4ft +

Of course you can join us on the SW Ribbsters meet, just need to thrash out some dates with the rest of the possy for a days crusing/wakeboarding and some top nosh in the Bucket of Blood.

We can even meet before then if you want to go out for some wakeboarding or a pint in the The Sloop Inn
