Oh my 9.9 isn't a Tohatsu. It's a Lehr which is basically a Yamaha save for the propane intake. Weighs 40kg, which I think is common for 4 stroke 9.9s.

Most 15 and 20s I've looked at are closer to...

For the grit we can take deeper water because we're wearing wetsuits anyway (we're using the boat to access surf breaks so no problem getting wet).

Thanks for pointing out that the motor can run...

Tips on warming up the engine before surf launching?

Occasionally I need to launch my takacat from the sand into the surf. Nothing crazy but one issue is cold starting the motor can be slow and we risk getting taken out by a wave while futzing around...

I have a takacat to and anchor using the two D rings underneath the boat that hold the floor in place. I suppose the belt used to tie them down is the painter? In the pic it's that black spot.

Between inflatable boats and kitesurfing I've learned that none of the pump gauges are ever correct. You can get a little Halkey-Roberts gauge for $20. Definitely worth it imo

Installing a lanyard kill switch

Picked up an old (90s?) tohatsu 15HP 2-stroke yesterday from Craigslist. It has a push button stop instead of a lanyard kill switch.

SGX 122 pack down size?

We've got a Prius V and are hoping to fit the boat and motor in the back as we don't have room at our place for a trailer.

I see a decent price for a used sgx 122. Is that too big?
