Gorgeous outing this afternoon. Lots of people in the marina getting their boats ready today, suspect it’s going to be a busy weekend.

I didn't manage to log off from work until later than hoped for tonight, but was still lovely at 18:30 here in Poole, and managed a short 1 hour run out to Studland and Old Harry, sadly no photos though!

Pretty quiet here still - I'd seen a few boats moving during the day, and just a couple out motor boats and jet skis out this evening.

But I suspect this weekend will be manic as everyone tried to get afloat again!

A reminder to everyone to use their local NCI lookout if you have one that is re-opening this weekend.

They will be single crewed for the foreseeable future, but listening on VHF Vh65 to give you radio checks and weather observations.

Save the CG some load if you need either or both of the above and if you pass within observable distance from them they will log your vessel passing.

Yes,
On reflection I've decided to take Monday off and get the boat into the water at Brixham then - I can imagine it being quite chaotic on Sat / Sun on that slip

It's been quiet on the slip so far in terms of launches. Plenty of people milling around though. If you want to keep an eye on it yourself check out the Brixham harbour webcam. Moves around the harbour but pauses a lot on the Marina and the slip. Handy for checking that mine is still there in the mornings or when it's blowing hard.

Are you still in the same spot in the Marina or did you manage to get a berth further in? At the moment there's still quite a few empty berths but maybe just waiting for boats to be lifted in.

Plenty of the standard salcombe-ites launching their Boston whalers today. Certainly getting busier and busier.

Is that national or England only? Our local NCI no way can you social distance in the tower so how does that work?

Single crewed only, but I suspect its up to each Station Manager to decide whether to open.

Plymouth Sound and Whitsand Bay were thick with every possible kind of water craft today, nice to see. Only heard one breakdown.

I live facing Whitsand - didn’t seem too bad loads of naval activity and CG helicopter practice a few yachts couple of small fishing vessels but didn’t think it was overly busy

Several people were out in Poole at lunchtime today - I decided to exercise on the RIB rather than running!

8 or so yachts at anchor in Studland Bay, quite a few boats fishing, a couple of boats sailing and several posses of jet skis.

I had a great hour long trip to Swanage and back, much calmer sea than yesterday, and sadly returned to the desk then!

Hopefully out again on Sunday, as we have another task tomorrow that means no boating.

Thanks for the update.

I reckon it will get lot's busier tomorrow / Sun, so have booked Mon off - one day of last year's holidaycarryover

Forecast is looking for Mon too, so check of the dock & lines whilst bearings are cooling, bit of a shake-down round Torbay or further, onto dock in time for tea

Still on same berth though I keep gently hassling the guys reminding them a 6m dock on a 5m finger and at the shallowest point is not the most suitable berth. They claim all the others full...not sure I believe them - Sprocker's old berth was not relet.

The harbour webcam is good - allow me to keep an eye on the from home when it pans round

.

I only ventured as far as the Scylla, but saw plenty of boats about and anchored in the coves all the way round from Kingsand to there. Hope to get a bit further West tomorrow!

If you haven't spoken to them recently it might be worth another go. There must be a few who have had a rethink with all that's going on at the moment.

The two berths next to mine, G23 and G22? are empty at the moment.

I'm planing to get my first run out on Monday so may see you around.
