I myself am currently going through a midlife crisis, been middle aged I have considered a jetski, smaller, faster more fun etc.

Decided that the RIB was better for me due my age, a little bit more comfort, a back rest and I can leave it on a mooring.

one plus point to a jetski i suppose is the ability to operate in shallower water.
By the way what time did you get home.

YAMAHA FX SHO High Output JET SKI

I actually did weigh up buying a rib and a Jet Ski for ease of storage and ended up buying the Jet Ski below, have to say it was the best ski I have ever been on and owned as it did cut across the chop very well. As for power it was totally awesome 1800cc Supercharged.

A great idea - had one sold and always slightly regret it . They are just bomb proof - used to go looking for the biggest wave I could find for fun & will deal with any weather at all ! Submerge the whole thing & they just keep going !

If I had a double garage I'd buy another one tomorrow.

I 'only' had 80hp - now I cant buy one with less than 120 ! New ones seem so much heavier with the four stroke engines & a lot less storage as a result.

I was a seadoo man - cant stand the daft water jet on some of them !

No.3 on the Chav lottery winners wish-list. Jetskiers have the worst rep. of all water users.

Oooooh another idea for a shiny toy - could I get one as support vessel for our RIB - do you think hubby would buy that suggestion

Actually did consider one of these before getting the RIB then decided I better learn to walk before running - but I'm getting the impression they are a lot of fun

Hey Stul,
Getting stuck on a sandbank, running out of fuel, running out of two stroke oil, losing diving weight belt to the seabed , anchor not holding, dropped head cam and broke it, only thing you didn't drop is your bus pass , and all in the same trip.

Wouldn't worry about mid life crisis if I were you mate, I would be worrying about Alzheimers!!!

You are not wrong, but please don't tar everyone with the same brush, there are responsible owners of jetski's out there

You normally find it's the a*******s racing close to the shore line that have a total disregard for others and more often than not have no form of training which are giving responsible owners a bad name.

Any chance we can move this to "The Bilges"?

Alternatively you could buy a Thundercat!

NO. I think Stull would rather it end up there though.
