RNLI D Class, VHF

Does anybody know where you can buy a ex RNLI D Class, tried contacts within the RNLI. This never worked! Tried boats and outboards nothing!

Also, I'm looking for an ex RNLI Fixed Radio, ones that are in the Severn Classes! You know the ones that have the Mic on a phone looking handset!
Cant remember what type I'm looking for!

Cheerse Guys

I think the VHF you're looking for is a Sailor (but other manufacturers will also offer a telephone type handset)

The RNLI occasionally sell off inshore boats that come out of service. I believe the list is circulated internally first and if there are boats left after the crews and managers have had a chance to buy they are offered to the public

[QUOTE=m chappelow;306135] theres no boats on the latest list only dud compasses and power washers, sometimes a few come up on on e bay now and then ,,,,,last list i saw with any boats were a tyne class and an atlantic 75 no engines i think was up at £16,000 though engine were available that was about 6 months ago ,i sold a very old scrap zodiac d class for £30 a few years back though it wasent safe to use ,as it had been used for fundraising for the last 15 years and had more patches than the original boat ,if you do get a boat you have to sign a contract that you will not use or display any op numbers or the words rnli or lifeboat as they are removed and patched over before you get the boat, good luck mart

Very rare to get D Class or Atlantics etc, as they are offered to other rescue organisations around the world first, then if there are any still available they go out to crew and staff. like i said very rare for them to come up. But as someone mentioned earlier Adrian Froggley is the guy to speak to.

Most of the Severns have Sailor 2048 VHFs (with a separate DSC unit), the later Severns have a Sailor 4822s (with DSC built in)

Cheers

Cheers for that! How much do you think I would get one or two of them for? Not brand new!
And where would I get them from 2nd or 3rd hand! Not bothered as long as it works and in good nick.
