Perfectly put, I never had direct contact with Jambo, but when ever I saw that handle pop up on here I always thought to myself, "this is going to be worth a read".

A big loss to this great place.

Condolences to his family and friends.

Ribtecer.

Thanks Ribtecer, what a lovely comment and I’m sure he would have appreciated that.
He also learned to so much, and had so much help and assistance from those on here- I guess that’s what makes a good platform.
Take care.

Hard to believe.... I was literally just thinking of Him as I logged on to Ribnet...I had it in my mind to PM him while I was on.

Very Sad and shocked to hear the news....a REAL SCOTISH GENT full of honesty respect and integrity. One of the Old School..
Re-United now with the Love of his Life Lyndsey.
God Bless you my friend...

Thanks for such a lovely message, Maximum.

Having thought about it a bit last night I hope to go for a sail later on in the year and maybe meet up with those of you who are semi-local, or those that would want to come.

Very sad news, my thoughts are with you, the family and friends.
I never met Billy but did exchange some messages with him. As JK has said he was a Stalwart on Ribnet and appeared to be a true gent sharing his knowledge and experience. I learnt from several of his knowledgable posts, and they were always worth reading.

Thanks for taking the time to post such a nice comment, John.

Jeff, he would have loved to hear of you staying at “The Wee Barn”, I’m sure. I have no doubt he mentioned our holidays there when I was a wee boy, the fact that there was only one room and they had an outdoor “lavvy” in the garden next to the water. Nice to hear from you.
Yes he did David especially when I told him about the bedroom with the fire my wife and I fell asleep in front of it with our chocolate lab Henry all woke up in the early hours cold that tickled him of corse the amber nectar had a part to play. All the best

Just seen this post
Very sad news indeed
We met a couple of times and messaged info occasionally
One memory is when a few of us went round to his caravan but he wasn’t in so we just moved things around outside [emoji848].
I hope all goes well with everything

Hope you are feeling better now , Chris.
That’s nice to hear he offered support; he like to help, if he could.

Jambo’s funeral is Thursday 28th April.
I realise you are scattered over the four corners of these islands, but if anyone is close and wants to come then please DM me.
Otherwise it’s an excuse to get a nice malt out and have a dram.
