Lowrance Hook 7ish

At the end of last season I bought a new to me boat which came with a Lowrance Hook Reveal 7ss. Good machine and I’ve got it set up with speed depth etc and a local map. Problem is that there is no accuracy with the GPS positioning, it can actually show me on land even though I’m in the middle of the channel.
Do I need to download or buy a separate Sid card to enable more accurate positioning please.

What map is installed? Is it just a world background map or do you have a chart package either on a card or pre-installed?

There’s no card in the slot so just the base map it came with I guess.

You need a chart card with the areas you intend to use. I prefer Navionics, others are available.

Hi, just buy Navionics or C-Map Discover maps from your local dealer and you will be fine

Hi and thanks for your replies.
An update, I bought a Navionics card from Force 4 last week for £149. I tried it out yesterday in Chichester Harbour
, near where I live, easy to use seems to be spot on accurate, pleased with it. A platinum card would have been better of course but for me happy with this one.

I purchased the Hook reveal 9 from the Southampton boat show and I got them to throw in C-map charts. Not used it much yet though....installed it earlier this year.

The platinum cards are nice to haves, but the charting is the same as the Gold version. You just get frills with the platinum that cost.
