Greetings from South Africa

Good day fellow boaters!

Was fortunate to stumble accross rib.net, scrutinised and saw a vast amount of knowledge and experience, so decided to join in order to share and learn in the process.

Operated 3 x 7.2m RIB's in a diving operation in my younger (energetic) days, and more recently acquired a 5,4m RIB for recreational and odd shallow (up to 5nm) offshore fishing.

Run a 90hp 2-stroke Yamaha on the RIB, manufactured by Superduck. Our RIB's maybe slightly less sophisticated than yours in Europe and the US but built well and solid for our often fairly big and rough surf launch requirements (Kwa Zulu Natal Coast) and sometimes heavy sea conditions.

Our RIB manufacturing industry is however fast evolving and more recently some boats have made their way to amongst the UK military and law enforcement agencies, not sure for use in UK or perhaps in Iraq.

Anyway looking forward to learn and share, and reading up on the mountains of information.

Wish I could share our sunshine but at the moment it is the middle of winter and (by our standards) freezing our butts off. Anyway warmest wishes!
