Fuel filters and hoses

Hi all,

I'm investigating why my F40B feels like it's starved from fuel under heavy load.

I've removed to carbs and fuel pump to give them an ultrasonic clean up, and reviewing the fuel line as well.

I have 3.6 meters of 6mm hose between the engine and the tank. Is 6mm ok for such a length of should I upgrade to 8mm?

Also, I have one fuel filter in the decanter filter and another one in the engine. Isn't that too much for the fuel pump to draw fuel through?

Note that the engine was running flawlessly at the start of the season with this set up; I'm just wondering if it would help to optimise it.

Cheers
Pascal

Have you checked the filters?
If it was running fine at the start of the season the fuel line was adequate then.
