Been thinking of trying to get some that don't high above the transom when up, but guess that might interfere with the outboard when turning.

I had those C Tug wheels, they didn't last long! Tey didn't have a happy ending

Are you sure you need the type that stay on the transom after launch? I take mine off and put back in the car.

How do they unclip?
If they hook under then would fall off without downward pressure?

They have a lower lug and then a turnkey at the top through a hole in the transom. They might not suit your use but worth considering?

I don't like the look or weight of raised transom wheels when underway and at mid trip destinations we rarely want to pull the SIB out far enough to need transom wheels. For an emergency where we had that need I carry a pair of deflated beach rollers which are light/small when packed and easily stowed.

Another KB350 owner here.
Have an extremely robust transom wheel set up leftover from a previous T38 complete with the big ‘yellow perils’ due mainly to a 300+ metre hand ball over grass, through/over dunes and across beach. As Fenlander, not a huge fan of the ‘Micky Mouse’ ears image when underway’ so usually take ‘em off’ and leave on terra firma until return.

This is a rare pic of them on!

stuck really - hate the sight of them, but don't eat to have to take them back toto the car.... hmmm

Yes, generally prefer to sit on the floor or toobs at lower speeds. Surprisingly comfy, better control and with a low centre of gravity feels much more secure when hooning around or pushing on in challenging conditions.
In fact only ever fit a seat if we’re taking the chart plotter, which clamps to said seat.



Incidentally, big transom wheels may soon be redundant as currently looking at making a lightweight launch trolley fitted with mahoosive ‘Wheeleze’ wheels. This should literally float over soft sand. [emoji3]

Hi all, still a KB350 owner but one whose rubbish at remembering (or having time!) to sign into the forum! I will try and change that!

Be interested in the thinking re your lightweight launch trolley Chipko. 90% of the time I use the wheels fitted by Fenlander when I acquired the craft but there are times (eg hols and cottage in Cornwall) when a trolley would be useful.

I acquired an older trolley recently which doesn’t quite fit the trimaran style so will be modifying the arms/pads. Downside is it is made of heavy box steel!

Got the ‘A’ frame for mine as well which gives me the ability to stand and stretch my duff knee safely and somewhere to store my rods, ipad, 360 light etc. Keeps the deck clear to land my fish…if only!

how do you secure your fuel to the floor, to don't you bother?

See ours set up for sea... using this method you can place it where you want for weight distribution.

It was a very choppy day and it stayed in place nicely. Note it has a section of Aldi gym mat underneath to aid grip and protect airdeck.
