86 Achilles opinions

I have a chance to buy a 1986 SK140 Achilles, black hypalon. How well does the adhesive hold up on Achilles inflatables? Overall the boat looks to be in great shape but I'm concerned about seam failures cropping up due to its age.

Achilles are well made, especially the Sport Knight which I believe is a fiberglass transom model.

Usually the only failures I see with them are at the valves...the rubber backer plate inside the boat has a tendency to crack and weather away, which causes seepage AROUND the valve.

I have an 1987 sd124 achilles. Great boat, i always go gently when inflating. Reckon you will get plenty warning is a seam starts to give.
