A66 for towing

I am proposing to tow a RIB to Scotland using first the A1 and then at Scotch corner use the A66 to cross over to Cumbria, while I have used the A66 a number of times never towing.

What’s it like in terms of hills, inclines etc?

It’s to avoid the painful M6 on a Saturday morning with all the dreadful roadworks and traffic in Cheshire.

Many thanks

Dave

It's a bit unpleasant if you're 16'3" tall and it's blowing over F6 but otherwise enjoy the scenery

We've been doing that run from Cambridgeshire for over 30yrs mostly just car but trailed boats too and it's a run we love. The A66 doesn't hold any challenges regarding hills for an outfit with reasonable power.
