Nice spot, thank you.

Now this is confusing, according to BAM and my service manual, the XR Upper only comes with B1, B3 & Sportsmaster lowers and a 16/19 ratio. They don't do a Bravo 2 XR.

ETA - yeah, just been on the mercury direct and it doesn't list an XR drive with a B2 Gear Housing at all. Odd.

Anyway - I need the 16/19 XR upper with the straight cut gears

Thats kinda weird cos that drive on ebay is clearly decaled as an xr diesel, a quick look shows only the one top gear set anyway so I guess you could try & sell the bravo 2 lower box if the figures work out compared to buying new from merc
What lower do you need or have?

I'm tempted to swap my bravo 3s for 2s but it would depend on the ratio and price would need to be keen for me. I already have the makings of two lowers I could build up ask him what ratio it is etc he has had it a while now so might take a cheeky offer

Good sleuthing, thank you. I guess with damage, it’d need a looking at first to make sure the upper is OK, and that’s probably a bit far to go. Nottingham and southwards is probably doable, but that’d be an overnight stay, ferries and so forth. Price is about right though, just need to find one slightly more local at the right price.
