evinrude 250 DI

Hi guys
My first post but i have been a regular visitor for a while now. Excellent forum !

I'm wondering if any members who have evinrude 225/250 DI engines have experienced problems with counter rotating gearboxes and if so after how long and to what extent. Is the opinion that there weaker/troublesome true.
