Two Stroke machinery

I'm going to get one of those petrol leaf blower/collectors.

Can I use the two stroke outboard oil I've got in the petrol mix for the blower ?

No idea. But, I use outboard oil in my 2 stroke generator and it runs fine.

There is a differece bu you should be OK providing the MIX is OK
My undersatnding is that Outboard oil hs rust/moisture inhibiting qualities and has a viscosity more in keeping with horizontl cylinders than vertical ones as found in Bikes.e

I thought the difference was related to running temp (land based applications being air cooled so hotter)? I have, on one occassion, used motorcycle 2str oil in the boat without apparent harm when I couldn't get hold of the real stuff.

I think you'd be correct

So is there a risk that Biggles leaf blower will cease because O/board oil wasn't designed to work at that temperature?

Fred,

I will do just that. If it blows up within the year the warranty should take care of it.

I asked that a while ago

I decided against it - not worth the risk.
