Is there anyway that I can record direct to mp3 from listening live radio on the internet. in particular I''m looking at Radio 7 and a blues station.

Don't know if it's possible to do it direct on one PC but Cdex will record from an analogue input-so if you were to plug output on one PC to input on another you should be able to do it.

Thanks buddy, that's what I am trying to avoid, I was wondering if you could get there by using two sound cards, but I don't know how XP works well enough

Probably suffering a severe case of verbal constipation by now. Come on Codders, take good dose of prune juice and make a post.

Look like the Radio 7 site uses Real Media file.

You could just save them to your HD then batch convert to MP3, much faster than recording as you listen.

Real Alternative is allot better to use than Real player.

I just click on the link and have the option to open or save.

If you don't get that option (it auto plays the file) you could use something like download helper for firefox that allows you save the file.

It will be in .RAM (real audio), but that is soon converted to MP3.

If you find you can not save them let me know and ill try and help.
