Dexter wedge size?

Just quick question for catching mackeral. What weight (gram) size dexter wedge should I get? Also any suggestions for any other successful lures would be greatly appreciated,
Cheers Charlie

Feathers are probably best for mackerel. Tried 6 feathers with a small dexter on the end once and caught 3 mackerel and a bass at the same time!!! Sadly, I have never managed to repeat the feat

had 24 hooks on a hand line, hooks sleeved in white electrical flex outer, one end cut square (main line end), the other cut on a 45 deg angle to give a "tail", 1lb lead on the end to keep the line down when trolling.

being plastic never wear out.

and yep had them all full more than once

I always put a Dexter on the bottom of a line of feathers instead of the lead.
We have often had full lines with five of us fishing when you hit a shoal ! The other thing that sometimes pick up a decent Cod or Pollack is a decent sized leadhead with a red or white rubber tail fished close to the bottom but the Mackerel are often mid water so they usually get caught on the way down or up
Had the bonus of catching a couple of very angry Gannets when trolling last year, they're a lot bigger close up. Released safely with no damage to us or them.

Tight lines.
