RIBbaldar are planning joint venture with ICE-SAR cruise and SAR exercise under the name HVALUR 2010 (WHALE 2010).
To sail from mainland to Vestmannaeyjar in the evening of Friday August 20th, staying over the weekend on the island.
Saturday to twin together cruise around the many islands, sail into and through some of the caves that can be found, also sometime during the cruise to have SAR exercise that will involve various rescue teams on various types of RIBs, even helicopter involvement is possible, in the evening BBQ to take place in a little private bay called Stafsnes and will be ended with bonfire and singing.
Sunday cruise back to the mainland.
All this is weather pending as waves and wind can easily change very quickly but last year we had expectionally good weather and sea conditions and so far this summer we have had great weather and we are hoping for nice weather throughout August.
