New Zealand RIB/SIB Exploratory Cruises - Auckland region

Hi

Are there any other New Zealand members on the forum who are into exploring the islands, rivers and back waters?

I have been exploring with various SIBS for 30 years (initially in Africa and now NZ) and having a 2nd boat would be nice on the longer trips.

Watching some of the Youtube vids it looks like the UK owners have some really awesome trips and places to explore.

Hi KiwiAdventurer,

Didn't see your last post so didn't get a chance to welcome you to the forum.

I know the populations not as large as the UK, but there must be others who share your passion for exploring.

Be nice if you posted a few vids of your adventures.

Hi Steve

Even when I was in Africa there are only small numbers of explorers and adventurers.

Anyhow I will post some videos.

I have a 2.8m with a 5hp Yamaha (which is easy to put on the roof rack but too heavy to pick up alone. Nice and wide to dive from. I do a lot of scuba metal detecting)

I bought a Nifty 3.65m long and 1.1m wide, this weighs 20kg and I can load it on the roof rack alone. I use the same 5hp Yamaha. Nice for shallow tidal rivers but doesn't plane with two of us.

I bought the Zodiac 2nd hand. This really works for the longer trips where I need to load gear and tents, etc.

Regards

Greg
