EASDALE RIB RENDEZVOUS 4 & 5 May 2019

ERR 2019 will take place on its usual weekend. We had hoped to have information posted between Xmas and New Year. Carolyn who runs the whole event returned from Spain to Easdale 27th December and has not been well. She may return to circulation next week. We had been hopeful that there may have been a news update on the former Highland Arts site but alas development in a conservation area does not progress swiftly.
We have a number of ideas as destinations. The most ambitious will require calm seas. You may recall seas during ERR 2018 were a little lumpy. Sea state the week before and the week after were mirror calm.
Do book your accommodation get yourboats ready and your engines fired up.

Expect Carolyn to take over this thread from the middle of next week. (10 January). She will then get on with the website and registration update.

Tony

No clash with the "wee" one's birthday this year!

Better get that steering cable un-seized.... again!

Highland arts developments aside, is there still somewhere to park a tent? (remembering a thread of yore....)

Carolyn is still down with the lurgy. Our thoughts for the Saturday
If really sunny and calm over the previous days then Treshnish Isles via Iona. Some may want to stop at Staffa. Return either SAMS route reversed or continue a circumnavigation of Mull.
To avoid Torran Rocks and if unsure of conditions we could go Treshnish Isles via Tobermory, poke our noses out into the Atlantic and make the call.
Loch Sunart will be sheltered.

If there has been a westerly wind The Islay Whisky Trail. Ardbeg, Lagavullin and Laphroaig. Moor either Ardbeg or if I can arrange it at a private pontoon near Lagavullin.

Really poor weather I will think on my feet.

Details later

Tony

In the diary . Count us in. No choice really, as Carolyn just hijacks the boat anyway and its merely a case of just hold on and see how long it takes for the fleet to arrive!

Hi everyone - The lurgy has been thwarted .... eventually - that will teach me to spend January in Easdale rather than Spain ! Am back and now on the case. Arrivals will be Friday 3rd May for most and then hoping to head to Treshnish Isles via Iona on the Saturday. Hopefully the Easdale RIB Rendezvous website will be updated within the next week so the registrations can begin in earnest. More news soon !

... and presumably, given that it will be a lovely sunny day with light breezes and a gentle swell, head on round the island for a pint in Tobermory and a liesurely run home.
