Deauville Cruise 15th - 17th September

Morning All

The BIBOA crusie to Deauville is now back on the Calendar and will start on Friday 15th Spetember from Yarmouth to Deauville. This event has been run several times and is very popular so I have set it up for you all.

We are looking to leave Yarmouth at 10am Friday for the crossing. This will all depened on weather etc but keep your fingers crossed.

It would be good if we can get lots of us on this event as its a good run for both new comers and old hands etc.

If you can let me know if your interested so I can try and get us all into the same hotel near the Marina.

All the best

Deauville 2006

Hi

So far we have 5 boats signed up for the event which is a cracking start. I have been looking at us all staying in the Ibis Hotel which is 5 mins from the marina and town centre.

Here is a link etc to look at : http://www.hotelclub.net/DirectHotel...3&y=9&curr=GBP

I will write up a full plan over the weekend and post it here. Leaving time will be 10am from Yarmouth for those based in the Solent area, People leaving from Poole etc we can arrange a meeting point like last time a few miles into the trip to save you coming into the Solent.

If any one else is interested please let me know.

All the best

Julian

Sounds like great fun but unfortunately I will be one of the 200 yachts that you will be threading your way past in the Solent that day! It's the Little Britain Challenge Cup so there will be lots of not very good yachties about, take care when passing thru!

runners so far

Hi Everyone

Here are a list of boats confirmed so far :

Scorpion - Julian Lyas + 4
Sea Devil - Jon Adlard
Tweedy Pie - Martin / Stephanie
Hot Lemon - Mike & Dave Deacon
Roy Smith - Sorry Roy forgot the name of your boat
Caprisante - Brian (whiteshoes)

I am just waiting on confirmation from another 3 boats and should have a update later this week.

For this event we will all run using VHF CH 77.

We do need to get away sharply on the Friday as Deauville has a lock etc so 10am we need to be up and running.

Lets hope for good weather.

More updates soon

Julian

Deauville 2006

Morning Everyone

I now have 7 boats confirmed for the trip with a possible 2 others as well. I have booked moorings for us all but you will need to book your own rooms at the IBIS hotel as they now want payment up front etc.

For those of you coming from Southampton, Chichester areas it would be best for you to go out past the NAB Tower rather than meet meet at Yarmouth as this is going totaly out of your way. I am meeting Jon Adlard ( Sea Devil ) 5 miles the Needles and we can arrange to meet with the rest of you around half way. Those based the other end of the IOW are :

Caprisante ( Whiteshoes - Brian )
Tweedy Pie ( Martin Humphrey )
Roy Smith

If you can arrange to meet with each other on Friday morning and we will sort out a waypoint for us to meet at half way. This will save you going miles out of your way to meet with me.

Remember we will all be using VHF CH 77

Weather forcast is looking good as well.

Cheers

Julian
