The eagle has landed!

We missed the tide at the weekend (launching from Cruden Bay), so had to wait for the tide to turn. Nearly did my back in hauling the boat the 50-60 meters into the harbour. Quite misty first thing too... not unlike a scene from the film 'The Eagle has Landed'.

did you get your trailer out of the mud ok? it looks buried and from the other shot the slip is a long way off...lots of rope to the tow car?

The boat launches in about a foot of water. Then its a case of hauling the trailer back to the car, which is straight forward. The pictures are deceptive, the sandy ground further up is fairly compacted, and the Rapide trailer is relatively light to manhandle unloaded. I've retrieved the boat before, but not from so far out, and yes, it's was a case of hauling on ropes back to the car.

Relax...

Sometime relax and wait for the tide is the only solution. Picture taken at Rivière-du-Loup (Québec, Canada) last summer.
