I should of done a compression test (only paid $5000 us for the rib so can not bitch). My evinrude had 260 hrs on the hr meter and 60 hrs later it is toast. The engine had alot more wear than the hrs...

engine was not running well, compression check, pulled head and have a cooked piston.
1. Do I completely rebuild the engine(is it worth it?)

2. maybe fix the burnt piston if the others are fine...

Check compression in my evinrude 120, 118, 114, 12 and no I did not forget a zero. I know in any other engine rings etc would be the issue and you would have to tear it down. Please someone tell me...

I was waiting for a job site to be plowed off (4 ft of snow, by the way did anyone think that snow sucks after the first 3 ft) so I took the rib out and went for a dive. Buoys measured 2 to 4fters...
