compression ?

Check compression in my evinrude 120, 118, 114, 12 and no I did not forget a zero. I know in any other engine rings etc would be the issue and you would have to tear it down. Please someone tell me of a miracle goop that would free up the rings in a 2 stroke. Seriously the engine is a 95 115 v4 evinrude with supposedly had 250 hrs when i bought it now has about 350 hrs, is it worth overhauling?

Sorry Doug but if you've got 12psi it's far more than just a set of stuck rings. It'll probably need a piston and rebore too. Full powerhead strip time.

If it'll come apart it's worth doing the job though. It isn't a hard job, just a bit time consuming and messy.

Doug,

There is a guy called Ralph the Outboard Wizard over your side of the pond and he is very knowledgable about all things Evinrude.

It may be worth calling him for parts, advice etc.
