Re tube advice please

Hi , my first post and I'm looking to see if anyone has for sale a set of tubes for an Avon Searider 5.4m ? or a supply and fit if the price is right.

I bought the boat as a non runner with a Suzuki DF70 engine , which I now have running perfectly ( £20 electric fuel pump and cleaned injectors ......after MANY hours of internet researching and a quote of £700 !! )

I was going to sell it but now the summers coming ...................you know how it is .

So if any has or can put me in touch with the correct people / products please get in touch.

Welcome to RIBnet. There are quite a number of re-tubers in the UK - north and south. If they are not trade members of ribnet then they are prohibited from advertising their services on this thread. However, members can recommend anyone they like. I'm aware of a few but have used none, although I own a lovely set of Henshaws tubes.

Barnett manufacture RIBs - so they should be able to do anything. I'm not sure if they offer re-tube services?

They do, and helpfully they list their prices. They are not the cheapest, although cheap is not always best anyway.

Thanks for the reply's , Ive made a few calls and am getting quoted in the region of £4k to £4.2k ?

More than I was hoping to pay , does this sound about right form experience to those of you who have taken the plunge ?

Getting a quote always seems tricky.

Few people list prices on websites - I guess there are a lot of variables to be fair.

But £700/m seems to stick in my mind from a thread recently as a guide price - making a SR4 about £3k. A 5.4m may be possible for just under £4k, but not sure if thats b4 or after VAT.

I have the impression Tidel / Tilley may be at the cheaper end of the market, but well reputed, but if it saves £500 is it worth it to go all the way to Cornwall or Devon rather than the guy you can get to in 90 minutes... It will need delivered, left with them and collected at a later date. So at least 2 long trips with the possibility of an overnight. Then imagine if there was any issue and you needed to RTB for warranty work etc.

Sorry about that , working off the phone and still finding my way around the site , but had some really helpful replies, off to Chorley tomorrow to get a quote.

Try Henshaw Inflatables for a quote... They will have all the templates in house ready to make... Their tubes are machine cut..
