I did thanks Steve. Two shiny new D rated tyres on there now all ready for an early start! Spent way more money on the trailer than the boat this winter!

Nice work Clam!

It's easy to ignore tyre condition, but in reality they are one of the most important items to consider when planning a trip.
Be safe

nice one well, no good having a nice boat sitting on a ratty trailer sat on the side of the A55, not much fun in that, top marks for getting it all sorted now you can enjoy the cruise with a smug grin

Too true, specially when you tow the distances we do. 300 miles this weekend give or take, then 600 up to Appin in May. Not to mention another 1000 or so in August going to Ireland. (Edit: I know this is nothing to you chaps with brand new gear but we have a 20 year old boat and trailer)

REally looking forward to this weekend, going to try and get yup super early to we have time for a quick shakedown on Friday. Hope to see you there guys. Enjoy your pint at Ty Coch!

it dont matter too much if your trailer is 1 or 20 years old, once it's had a season of being dipped in the salty wet stuff the same rules apply, brakes n bearings need servicing / replacing, our Revenger has only been towed out of the yard n launched for the last 2 seasons, still needed new bearings this year, so much for sealed bearings eh

if you get to Caernarfon handy give me a call, we can have a quick blast, looking like a nice day for it

Haven't replaced the bearings cos they looked ok, but after Neil's experience I'm a tad nervous about that.

take a chill pill, just get yourself a spare set to carry with you, or a spare hub with bearings in, makes for a more relaxed tow
