They are the best part of 8k new, 500 hours isn't all that many hours.

They had 250 on when I got them, 250 hours in my first year - not too bad, considering its my first proper boat :P

True. I guess I was working on the basis that they are now out of warranty, and unless they go as a pair, there will be one counter rotating one, and only one double control box. 500 hours is probably about right for the age of the engines.

Having single engine being counter rotating shouldn't be an issue.

True about no warranty

True about only double control... but that can be easily rectified.

Due to the "above deck cabling" on my boat, I think it should be a relatively easy job to remove the guages to, so can supply those with the engines.

The engines are reliable and have only let me down due to a c*ck up during a service I had done. I am told they are economic when being run as a single engine.

Yup - a brand new control box is about 400, which isn't actually all that unreasonable, and they can be bought secondhand.

The yam 115's get very good writeups etc, and are supposed to be economical - think your economy is down to have 2, and the way you drive them

Anyways, we shall see!

Bring your camera tonight....

S'alright, just found the battery charger for mine, so we're cool...

Any enquiries about the engines yet?

Just seen your ad Benc, I wouldn't think you will have much trouble shifting them, they are Yamaha's after all.
You could partex them for these: http://www.boatsandoutboards.co.uk/view/F88839

Now that would make a nice boat!!

Alex
