As I'm sure many people would do the same, this would probably cancel out any perceived CO2 benefits of the new law.

The notion is full of holes I reckon and I doubt it'll pass (I can't imagine the Italians MEPs voting for it!)

Brunstrom is slowly digging himself a big hole. His last gaffe was using photos of a decapitated motorcyclist's head in a press conference without permission. There's a petition on the Downing Street website to remove him.

Don't start me off on this one - oh dear you have!!!

I used to do a lot of climbing in the area he mentions - the only bikes that cause offence are the 2 strokes. in fact they were often drowned out - by the sound of the bloody Police helicopter!!!

More pointless legislation from a dictatorial state, come 2015 Britain will be like living in one big open prison that has more oppressive and ridiculous laws than there are stars in the sky! Id cards, human micro chipping, cameras and micro chips here there and every where! and all to prevent crime and fraud they tell us? well it doesn't fool me. In truth its the governments vision for the future to keep tabs on each and every one of us and to keep us all in order towing the line, while they build their world around us on their vision at the expense of our liberty! sheer madness.

and the all-pervading and incessant high-pitched whine of the motorbikes revving up and down through the gears on the roads beneath. The other traffic was almost inaudible, but the bikes were most certainly not. Quite remarkably intrusive.

I do NOT agree with the git!!!

Obviously Brunstrom was tarring ALL bikes with the same brush. Obviously all the sports bikes these days are 4 strokes but you do get the odd offroad bike - they are fortunately the exception though.

What I was trying to point out is that rather than ban ALL bikes - or bring in silly speed limits - why not just ban the 2 strokes - I am sure some of them must be way over the db limit anyway!!!
