Guys
if weather conditions prevent from coming across by sea then we will have enough ribs in LA to accomodate everybody for the Arundel trip and off LA

the evening is booked in the Arun View and should be very enjoyable

Please keep track of weather conditions and let Paul know of your plans

We will be leaving home around lunch time(12.00) tomorrow(Friday)after that I wont have access to a ptr. If there are any changes to the programme please can someone let me know on 07970-145294. If I dont hear anything we will try to be in Littlehampton Marina area for 10.00am. Phil I will call you on your mobile as we reach the road bridge if thats ok?
I have noticed on the Ship & Anchor Map that Ford Station is across the road. Does anyone know if it is possible to catch a train into Littlehampton. When we visited there earlier in the year I noticed Littlehampton Station is within easy walking distance of The Arun View?

Thanks Andre
Whatever the weather we will be boating to Littlehampton from Ship and Anchor, launching as soon as the Slip opens at 0900. Depending on the sea state we will decide whether to go out to sea as we are only 4.65 metres. I am up for it but the wife is a fair weather sailor!
To all those camping - will look forward to meeting you all tomorrow afternoon onwards.

No probs on the phone call. I'll guide you to us when you get there.

If you decide not to go out to sea then I have a few spare seats.

The forecast is looking pretty vile for Saturday morning, so we might leave Saturday afternoon instead.

www.metcheck.com is currently forecasting F8 at 9am saturday, which is decreasing all saturday and sunday.
Comparing it to other forecasts, i think that one is a bit pessimistic, and we will still plan to leave Sat morning, but it its looking too rough might hang around the solent and leave in the afternoon/early evening.

It does look windy for Sat. Harry & Dave. Quite a lot of people plan to drive round anyway and if it comes to that Andre has said there will be enough boats at LA to accommodate us all.

Most of the Solent group have contacted us re Sat plans and please continue to update so we can relay info to Andre, especially on the day.

pm or mobile Paul on 07790 551442

If its any help this link will take you to a webcam pointing out to sea at Littlehampton.

http://littlehamptonport.co.uk/default.asp?goto=weather

At least you will get an indication of what its like our end.

Paul - or anyone else ............. I heard that there was to be a met-tower of some description being assembled onto the St.Helens Fort at Bembridge!
Anyone know if this up & running yet and whether or not this is still ongoing?

On my way to the IoW ferry soon - take care all, have a nice one......

John.

I will also drive up to the Black Rabbit (will check on mooring ) cos I am told it could be too cold for a picnic lunch

Guys

Just got back from LAmpton and the sea front. What fantastic weather and the seas just as ordered but for tomorrow

I first drove to the Black Rabbit pub cos it has been some time since I was up there and attach a few photo for those who have never been up the Arun and this will be their first trip

Perhaps we should go all the way up to the Black Rabbit and those who prefer can have a picnic and others a pub lunch

* photo 1 taken from the pub garden and in the distance down river you can just see the top of the Arundel Castle

* photo 2 - mooring facility at the Black Rabbit

* photo 3 view of the Black Rabbit outdoor facilities

* photo 4 Littlehampton entrance - pls note the very calm sea

* photo 5 again LAmpton entrance view of the East side , coming in please do not go between the poles cos you can damage the engine leg. There is a ledge all the way along

also because of the shoal build up against the east side please keep to the west side of the harbour entrance when coming in and going out
