Evening Skippers.

As you'll have noticed, the forecast is currently poor but inconsistent. I think that it is too soon to make a call tonight and suggest holding off until after the midday updates tomorrow, Thursday. That will allow Tony and Liam a chance to stand down in good time.

For Portnahaven, Ribochet and ourselves it's a little less time critical. Unless a gale is confirmed, I'll be up at 0600 on Friday, checking the forecast

Ultimately, it's a decision for each Skipper as to whether they're going to Easdale or not and I won't be suggesting Go/No Go for anyone other than myself.

Feel free to bail in with your thoughts...

Hi Folks
I have been checking all sites regularly throughout the day and it has changed just about every up-date. At present Fri is the shit day but there seems to be a window early to mid afternoon with sat and Sun better. The wind is all over the place and is changing quarters at random. I agree with you W as I have a sneaking feeling it could pan out okay.
keep in touch as I will.

The idicators point to the wind from a westerly direction.
Fine for run up to Fair Head. Across open Rathlin sound could be wild.
Across open water with westerlies against 3.2m flood tide to Jura - could be very rough. Should be O.K. tight to Jura shore on the way up.
Again situation constantly on the change.
Machrihanish is the forcast to watch. Friday afternoon is 31mph gusting and gusts over 40 in the morning.

I've read three different forecasts in the last hour albeit from 3 different sites.
