So run it past me again... Are we going to the Scillies or the Isle of Man?

Well spotted guys. Casquettes it is. Charles was suggesting much the same plan as Dom described.

Clarky - there will be at least one even bigger RIB (9m) with a more experienced skipper, on the trip, so plenty of opportunity to jump aboard a larger ship if it's a bit lumpy.

Mike - that's a good chat up line "Your wife is welcome to sit on my engine" but you're supposed so say it directly to the ladies, otherwise you could get into an awful lot of trouble!

Until he clocks his fuel flow meter that is, he can play once he gets to the islands.

Actually he'll be burning around 30-35lph at 30kts vs 20-25 at 20ish kts so not much odds. I'm not a naval architect nor a powerboating guru such as Messrs Diggler or Fuller but Scorpions in particular seem to ride better and actually get better economy faster rather than slower!

That being said I am sure that Richard will be taking things easy in his new boat and will want to be keeping with the rest of the fleet.

Fuel Consumption

Don't worry - I shall be keeping a close eye on the fuel consumption and making sure other half doesn't bankrupt us with his new toy.

Charles

Room for a little one ? our diving trip has been cancelled and I am now looking for a summer holiday. Have own tent so anything that is available would be great.

Plan to bring the Pacific 22.

Pete

Alan, absolutely correct - my exact words to a friend at the week-end coming back from France in a F5/6 throught the notorious Violet Channel. Doing about 28 knts was extremely uncomfotable, pushed it up to 35 knts and it was not too bad at all. Granted, you would fall in a hole every so often which would make your teeth shudder, but far beter than having the sh*t pounded out of you on every wave.

Pete, I had booked a few extra sites and established tents just in case, so no problem at all. Let me know if you want just a site or an established tent.
