I’m not familiar with that engine but that much fuel in the sump may be caused by a leaking fuel pump diaphragm. I’m sure you’ll get replies from people that actually know the answer!

Can you define what folding the boat in half means? It potentially sounds like there was no air in the tubes.

It will be fine in your outboards, otherwise use it a bit at a time in your car petrol tank. Even with a catalytic converter, it's ok or if you are wary keep to about 500:1.
