Wanted 8m plus rib

8m plus rib wanted preferably coded but at the very least easily codeable. No big cutaways in transom. Seating for at least 8 not including suicide seat. Ideally twin engined. Budget up to £25k plus vat.

Thames RIB experience are currently selling one of their 10m Ribcrafts. Seating for 12+2. Appears to be in tidy condition but I gather they have a policy of replacing them every x years (boat is a 2008). £15k+vat (no engines). Seems like a lot of boat for the money! Only downside is its too big to go on a road trailer so it would have to be an HGV job.

Thats alot of boat and engines for not alot of money...........
I'm sure you will find a project but is that what your looking for?
One of Bear Grills old ribs is on the river medina ( near cowes ), massive RIB, not sure if it was single or twin inboards and I'm guessing after its adventures had been converted for rib-rides ( lots of seating pods etc ).
However, its not moved in years, resembles a floating shed covered in seagull poo and last time I looked it was £80k

Who's got that then? I'm interested in looking at any options. Maybe ambitious but I was told that with last rib and ended up under budget 😃

Have you checked out the Redbay used section? I've not checked it recently but they often have boats that would meet much of your criteria...

I did thanks. Even phoned and emailed but they don't seem bothered. Never returned calls. Like them too. Not sure about a covered boat though as will be alone a lot.

Nice boat for the money but probably not the easiest for single working.

Thanks guys for those. Yes like them a lot but mooring a cabin rib singlehanded not always gonna be easy imo anyway. Maybe one day though 🙂

It just requires practice / rehearsal. Once you have a system you'll think crew are an inconvenience who just do it wrong!

I operated a single engined cabin rib single handed extensively. Like the man says its a doddle once you have a system.

If you do find a RIB that suits but are worried about the transom hight then give me a shout, I got the moulds to make a simple splash well to resolve this coding issue when I bought Custom RIB.

There are two moulds one if for a single and the other is for a twin engine set up.

I hope this helps

Hi

It is a 7.8 Ribcraft 2008 with less than a 100 hours with 250 suzi and 8hp yam. Boat and engine look new. Never kept in the water, either dry berthed or on floating pontoon. It has jocky seating for 8 and is one of the best equipped boats about- including excellent trailer. Complete package is on the brokers for offers around £36500 if you are interested pm me and we can have a chat about price etc - all documents are present and correct! Currently at DDZ in Largs.

Harry
