seeking searider 4 or 4.7

Just moved to the Hebrides and looking for my first ever rib. Have narrowed it down to the avon searider 4m or 4.7. If anyone hears of a good quality one for sale with a 40 or 50hp engine please let me know. any advice welcome. thank you.

These are very different boats. The SR4.7 is a rare bird, bit well worth seeking out. I'd suggest 50hp min on the 4.7

What's your budget? There's a few 4.7's around at the moment

could stretch to around 5k for the right boat. there is a 4.7 on the site selling from badbaws which is a bit over my budget but am considering.
I am a total newcomer so any pointers welcome.
There are a few newly listed on ebay plus 3 on boats and outboards gives me a shortlist of around 6 ranging from £2800 to £5995

You will have no trouble finding a SR4 as they are always about, the 4.7's are much less common so if you see a good deal on one don't hang around.

They are quite different though and with a two man console on a SR4 there is very little deck space. No finer boats for your first RIB though. Run a search for 'searider' in title in the RIB section as there is tonnes of advice on here.

Might be in the selling frame of mind mine is a 4m with a 60hp based in Argyll also here is a video taken from the rib last Saturday

Hi,
I have a very good example of a SR4, just about to add to the ribs for sale section. Have a look and get in touch if you are keen - I am in Devon / Cornwall so a bit of a drive, but it has a pretty much brand new trailer so if any weapon is going to make the journey this will!
