Tough, no frills, sensibly priced and I really like low deck/high tube feeling of security. Nice and beamy too so they feel bigger than they are. They just seem to look right.

The 550 is beamy, so lots of deck space. Down side is that they are not the softest of ride. Finish is OK ish. Seem to remember they were uprated from max 90hp which mine had to 115hp. Had lots of fun in mine, Mrs M appreciates softer ride of current boat, on the rare occassions she ventures out with me

Depends what you are looking for, the reliable top end on mine was 34kts ish, with a 90 opti on the transom (and that is not from the annals of Fibnet ) Guess a 100 might improve that a little.........

The 530 and 580 is much more like the old Tornado in shape and rough water handling. It not as roomy as the 550, and more wedge shaped looking from above. I have 70hp on my 530 and that gives 32 kt top speed.

I have a XS550 with the new 125 Optimax and she manages 39 Knots with full fuel load and three people. As mentioned very good beam of 2.6mtrs and a dry ride.
