Just wondering whos heading up to the western isles this year then? hopefully i will be a couple of times when i get the muscle end a good service.
Had some really good weather last year....... and some really bad, but thats Scotland!
Phil
We will be heading up there with the ribs hopefuiiy 25th August this year for a weeks holiday maybe Oban or somewhere near not sure yet, we are just looking for somewhere to stay at the moment Any advice anyone "lodges or cottages,"
i have stayed at puffin a few times as well as a cottage just past puffin on the oban caravan and camping park, was excellebt value.
The good thing about staying on the yacht tho, no black winged death on an evening!
my leave is the end of aug till mid sept so hopefully i'll get up for 2 weeks.
Phil
ERR is what we did last year and we are in the middle of organising this year's, well Tony is it was a great w/end.
Hope you make it up as there is quite a few Ribnetters about that area remember and tell us when your coming and we may be able to meet up.

I've got family from Lewis, in Uig. When you head out Loch Roag into the Atlantic... the next stop is Halifax, Nova Scotia! Fantastic fishing, including pollock, haddock, herring, mackerel, red gurnards, skate, lobster, etc. Had a 5m Minke whale come up for air next to the boat last year. Bear in mind the sea was inky black, calm, and it was 11.00pm on a summer's night. For f**k's sake... my heart can't take it! Hopefully heading up end of July into August.

we ( me and the good lady and my smooth collie) are just looking at booking 2 weeks around the 1st and 2nd week in may just south around the portofadie area so if you know anywhere good to stay that is big enough for us and maybe a few pals I would love to know asap i.e 2-5 bedroom
hadd, myself and hopefully Mr t, a.k.a. "The Black Shadow" will be coming up to the west coast on the 25th of August for a week with the ribs somewhere near jambo's vicinity. We are finding it hard though to find somewhere with three double bedrooms and a single room near the water for launching. Any ideas Billy ?
Not sure where you've looked or e.g. how picky you are on 3 doubles etc. If mixtures of twins/doubles would do then you'll find something on www.tayvallich.org if its available. e.g. the old smithy has a double and twin in the main house and a twin with another twin in mezzanine (overlooking the twins so no nooky!) in the "Summer house" in the garden. IIRC There are two others on there which will sleep 8. Smithy has its own jetty. Others all walking distance to public pontoon and slipway.
