UK River Trip

I’m looking on doing a scenic river trip this summer on my 4.8, of about 30 miles with a starting point an hour or so of Coventry. Need a decent slip to launch and a marina and reasonable sized town at the end.

Does London count?
You can launch on a high tide at Putney then get out any state of the tide at the Marina / Town Hard in Brightlingsea.

Glasgow is a good one too, launch at Largs and you can get right up into the city. There’s a slip at the transport museum where you could recover but we went back to Largs each day. There is a public pontoon at Braehead Shopping Center that’s free for three days! Very under used and Kristy Krem right by the pontoon for Coffee & Donuts

I’d like to head up the Tyne and go into Newcastle and a Trip into Bristol is definitely on the list of round to it’s at some point.

driving through London was much easier that I'd feared and there's plenty of parking next to Putney Bridge (BUT pay for 2 parking bays as your trailer fills a payable space)

Alternatively buy a canal and rivers. trust day pass and bung it it at North Kilworth marina and make your way to Foxton locks,]...

WARNING: depending on the width of your rib you'll want to make it through the tunnel sharpish as we made up for more than half the width so.. IOf we'd met a narrow boat we'd have had to reverse and.. if one came behind... We'd have caused a traffic jam!

Took 2 or 3 hours there and back. and was great fun... Got a lot of admirers and a chance to buy a beer at Foxton

Going in the other direction from North Kilworth you come to a lock... We were too wide. If you're not too wide buy a lock key (Ebay)
